– St. Francis of Assisi

“All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.”

We are Lux Counseling

We believe addressing difficult aspects of the human experience empowers individuals to become who they are meant to be, enhancing their ability to show up for those they love. Rooted in faith, we recognize that our brains and bodies are wired for healing and growth. No matter what has happened to you or what you are experiencing, there is always hope.

We see therapy as an investment in oneself and loved ones.

The last of the human freedoms – to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

– Viktor Frankl

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing:

Our mission is to provide a diversely skilled support system that people of faith can turn to and trust. Our private practice name "Lux," meaning "light" in Latin, embodies that mission of bringing light to the dark and difficult places.

I don’t know about you but when I am struggling, I want to be around someone who I feel comfortable being open with (even when my true experience feels embarrassing or scary to face) and who is deeply grounded in hope and faith. As a client, the last thing I want to be considering when working through sharing something vulnerable in therapy, is if the therapist across from me is misunderstanding or misleading my convictions and values. I want to feel confident that I’m working with someone who has experience supporting others through the same challenges I’m facing and who can offer strategies to help me move through them.

The desire for this criteria to be met for those craving support is why Lux came to be what it is today. This is why we have incredibly high standards for the kind of therapist you will find on our team. We are committed to engaging in our own inner work and faith lives, and to being life long students on the journey to mastering the skills of accompaniment. We are passionate about our craft of integrating clinical, therapeutic techniques in a way that can truly make a difference.

It is a privilege and honor for us to walk alongside you in your pursuit of “better”- whatever that may look like to you. Welcome to Lux.

Lux exists to bridge a vital gap in mental health settings: Offering faith-aligned care that truly respects and reflects the values someone of faith is bringing to therapy.
