This allows us to provide 1 on 1, personalized care to each individual without insurance or 3rd party limitations. Payment is accepted via credit/debit card or HSA/FSA cards, due at the time of the session.

If you are a college student at one of the universities where we have a partnership, you may be eligible for up to a 90% discounted session. Please mention what university you attend in your intake so that we can see if you are eligible for our scholarship.

Three of our therapists offer in person sessions for clients, while the other three are only available virtually.

For in person sessions, Lux Counseling has an office at Corporate Woods in Overland Park, KS. We additionally have an in person office space at the St. Lawrence Center for students at the University of Kansas.

Yes! All of our therapists offer remote therapy sessions through, HIPAA compliant, secure video sessions.

We have found that virtual therapy provides many benefits to helping therapy remain accessible, without being location dependent. Due to our ability to see clients virtually, we are able to work with clients anywhere in the states of Kansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Additionally, we know it is important to uphold our professional ethics of ensuring we do not have dual relationships with clients. Because of this, we are proud to have our remote therapists who are located outside of Kansas, giving local clients the ability to see a therapist who is not living in their community. It can feel like a “small world”, especially in the Catholic world, when searching for a therapist and realizing you may have been an acquaintance with all the local therapists you have been recommended. Seeing a therapist remotely, who lives in another state, can allow a safe, unbiased space to share your heart, knowing that you will not then run into your therapist in the grocery store or at church, due to proximity.

You and your therapist get to determine the frequency you would like to meet based on the intensity of what you are experiencing and what works for you in the season you are in- both financially and practically! In the beginning of the therapeutic relationship, it is extremely beneficial to commit to more regular therapy meetings- whether weekly or biweekly. However, as time progresses, and according to your unique needs and desires you have for what you want to get from the therapeutic process, we can tailor the frequency to your needs!

We all experience stressors and challenging situations at times. When we notice these impacting our ability to be present, our daily functioning, our relationships, or our work, that can be a great time to bring in a therapist to work through the core issues troubling us. We will work with you on your team to explore the goals you have for your growth and symptom reduction. We are not made to walk through our struggles in isolation. Our therapists feel privileged to walk with clients who are putting in the work to become the best version of themselves.
